It's easy to become overwhelmed by life's problems. Some days -- make that weeks, well, maybe months -- are like that.
But nothing brings peace like turning over your problem to the living God. Nothing can beat the peace that comes when you know -- in your spirit -- that God has heard your pleas.
Can we really ask for more?
Sometimes we don't even know how to verbalize our requests. We may not know, or fully understand, the cause of a problem. So our recommended solution may be flawed.
The Bible tells us: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
Trusting God to grant the desires of our heart, in a way that will ultimately be for our good, is better than him just doing what we ask.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Paul writes in Romans 8:28
Sometimes the things happening in our lives concern us. We don't like the direction things are heading.
Maybe we can sense the devil wants to burden us with others' problems, put us in fear, stress, anxiety or even panic.
That's when I've learned to take my concerns to God in prayer right away, storm heaven if you will, by seeking prayers of agreement from others we well.
We need prayers said in faith. Sometimes prayer and fasting is in order, the Bible tells us in Matthew 17:21.
"this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting," Jesus told the disciples when they asked why they could not cast out some demons.
We also may have to wait.
But, even if the resolution doesn't come soon, there is peace when you know he has answered: I have heard your prayer.
